Downtown Indianapolis is a live music hub! Every summer the city comes alive with bands playing all around Indy. Check out these spots to see live music performed.
SLIPPERY NOODLE
The Slippery Noodle Inn is a staple of Indianapolis. Originally founded in 1850, this bar has been producing outstanding performances for a very long time. They are best known for being a prominent blues venue in the area and typically have two stages performing at once, so you’re bound to find something you like. Keep an eye out for who’s coming to town, because the greats of jazz music stop in from time to time.
RATHSKELLER
Rathskeller is the place to be on a summer weekend afternoon. The huge outdoor space is the perfect venue to enjoy live music, grab a beer with friends and spend some time in the beautiful weather.
DUKE’S INDY
Duke’s Indy brings Nashville north to Indy! Full of southern charm, you’ll think you’re in a honky-tonk. Listen to your favorite country hits and enjoy their beer and fried chicken.
HOWL AT THE MOON
Howl at the Moon is the perfect place to go for a wide variety of music. Whether you want to hear today’s top hits or an 80’s classic, the performers there will make it happen. Performers often take requests from the crowd throughout the night and show off their talent by playing the piano while singing.
TIN ROOF
Tin Roof prides itself on being versatile, constantly changing up the music performance they offer. One night it will be a Beatles cover band and the next you’ll be jamming to Stacey’s Mom. Right in the heart of downtown, it’s a great place to stop in on a night out.
